My journey in the dance world has been long but very interesting. I first started practicing traditional Colombian dance styles like mapalé and salsa but then I started ballet, jazz and dancehall classes. Fell in love with it and decided to keep exploring styles. I learned house dance, locking, popping and practiced a lot of commercial dance. I wanted to collect as much information as possible so that my movement could look richer and unique. I think being in this video could change my life in multiple ways. Not only it’s an amazing opportunity to work with a Profesional team in a music video, it’s also an honor to work for an artist that has boosted the dance world in terms of giving us, dancers, a place in front of the camera and in the profesional world. I think this would be a great learning opportunity but also a chance to show myself to the world and share a little bit of my art with everyone.
I would put it all towards college. I’m currently a musical theatre student on her junior year at Columbia College Chicago. College is very expensive and I really don’t want to have to let go of my dreams and go back home (Colombia). I’ve been blessed to have the support from my parents but unfortunately it’s not enough financial support to make it to my senior year. I’ve had the best years of my life and this place and I really don’t want to have to let go of
