Thank you for supporting me in this competition. Your donations and participation will benefit the Why Not You Foundation in their mission to fight poverty through education initiatives that empower youth to lead with a why not you attitude.
My inspiration spans from multiple genres: Alvin Ailey, the Nicholas Brothers, Josephine Baker, all the way to present time R&B stars: Janet Jackson, Ciara, Beyonce, JLo. Even the shared spaces of each studio and educational centers I've attend inspires me. I take inspiration from each of these shared experiences as it has helped me to develop into the dancer and educator I am today. I don't limit myself when it comes to style or genre.
OMG the CiCi? I remember dancing to Ciara's videos in my living room wishing I could be dancing on the TV screen. Ciara's music has shaped a generation and it would be a full circle moment to learn from Ciara and her team.
This monetary award would be a catalyst to my endeavors in furthering the accessibility of dance/ent education to youth and adults. Provide classes and an equitable creative space to my community. Additionally, this will also allow space for me to pursue my development and education in the arts.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Entrepreneur of Impact, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
