My movement is inspired by everything from growing up in the Midwest to being a black gay woman even to performing stick it n roll it in my grandmas living room. I believe inspiration is in anything that gives you feeling. My dancing style is very ooey-gooey and I will always catch the pocket no matter the genre.
Being in Ciara’s music video would impact my life tremendously. Growing up the “Like a Boy” and “Goodies” music videos became a staple in my life when I knew dance was something I wanted to do. Getting the opportunity to even be on set or in rehearsals would accomplish such a great goal for me, I really believe in myself and the art I create so being apart of such an iconic moment would really push me even further towards my dreams.
What I would do with the $20,000 is invest in myself and my community. The dream is to choreograph for the biggest stars and teach all over the world but without the funds and having to live in day to day life it makes it really hard. Being in this art form money has always been a struggle and it’s hard to receive all the training and traveling that I need to thrive in dance. I would also use the money to make dance available for everyone and create programs to keep this art form alive and
