I grew up listening to all of the rap and hip hop music my dad listened to - Busta Rhymes, E40, Snoop Dogg, so my inspiration definitely comes from the bold and hard dance style that mirrors that genera of music. I also grew up listening to Ciara and Aaliyah, and always loved their style. I’m trained in West African and Afro-Cuban style dancing, so that mixed with the style and boldness of hip hop makes inspires my style. I like to dance Big, yet fly at the same time.
I am an artist myself. I just started releasing music in 2024 (https://youtube.com/@osirischilds?si=9eZKTktJEaQWZVt9). Being in Ciara’s video would not only give me the opportunity to dance with one of my all-time artists, but also award me the exposure to out myself out there even more. Being an independent artist and working 9-5 is a bit hard, so I believe this will be the perfect opportunity to tap into a new audience.
If I won, I’d use the money to strategically fuel both my artistic growth and my career trajectory. Having only two songs out right now with the goal of continuing to produce more this year and build a growing fan base, I would utilize the award to invest in music production, marketing promotion, and videos.This opportunity would be a huge boost for my career.
