I have been dancing seriously for 9 years, and I have trained in Ballet, Jazz, tap, hip hop, contemporary, and more! Commercial and concert dance training have inspired my flow and movement quality. have learned to change between smooth/gooey, strong, and resistant movement during different parts of Choreography. I can differentiate between hard or energetic and soft movement. And I am really good at using my full body to show my movement. These qualities make me stand out.
I want to audition for jobs in the dance industry, but I am a college dance major from Michigan. Ciara’s music video lets me learn from insanely talented choreographers and dancers that I don’t have access to here. It will give me exposure to have a legit dance career, beyond my studio. Also, I am the first person in my family to pursue an art as their profession. This video will show my family and other young black girls from a small town that they defy the odds and follow their dre
With the $20,000, I would help pay off some of my brother’s expensive financial aid to pay my college tuition. Additionally, I would put money towards my dance career. Being so far from large cities with a populated dance scene, I could use the money to travel there and go to more professional auditions for talent agencies or jobs. This way, I could pursue my college education and my dance career: two things that deeply matter to me.
