For me, dance isn’t just about movement, it’s about telling my story, one shaped by resilience, struggle, and hope. Growing up as the child of refugees from the Vietnam War, I’ve faced challenges that have shaped who I am. Dance has always been my way of finding light in the darkness and connecting with something bigger than myself.
A music video would give me the platform to share my journey with the world, to inspire others who feel like they don’t have a way out of their struggles. It’s more than just an opportunity, it’s a chance to amplify my voice and show that no matter where you come from or what you’ve been through, your story matters.
If I were to win $20,000, I’d use it to cover the cost of a surgery I really need, it’s something that would improve my health and allow me to keep pursuing my dreams. I’d also use part of that money to help my parents, who’ve sacrificed so much for me. They’ve given everything to support me, and being able to give back to them would mean the world to me.
The search is on for eight dancers to be flown to a live judged event in Phoenix, AZ, showcasing their skills to Ciara and her choreographer, Jamaica Craft. One will be chosen to appear in her upcoming music video and win $20,000!
