Throughout my time in high school I was fat-shammed and bullied. I’d always look back on this time as a period of growth through dance. Dance has always been my go to. Through these rough patches in my life I’d always find myself going to the studio and dancing, going through all of my emotions and expressing them through movement. On top of dance always being there, I found inspiration through my mom, who’d always be there for me and push me to become the best version of me!
As a dancer it’s a dream to be doing what I love along side of other dancers who have the same passion as I. This would greatly impact my life because with being bullied and fat shammed, I’ve always thought I was never good enough to be in a music video, and this opportunity is something that will happen only a few times in your life. I take this as a time for me to shine. This is a dream not only for me, but for everyone I love , and for everyone who has helped me get to where I am!
Family is everything to me, therefore I would love to use the $20,000 to give back to my parents who have always supported me in dance since a very young age. $20,000 isn’t as close to what my parents are worth, but I am utterly grateful for them and to have such a huge support system. $20,000 would impact my life and my family’s life. Just to give a little back for everything they’ve done for me to get me where I am today , and where I will be in the future!
The search is on for eight dancers to be flown to a live judged event in Phoenix, AZ, showcasing their skills to Ciara and her choreographer, Jamaica Craft. One will be chosen to appear in her upcoming music video and win $20,000!
