In my dance I always want to include not just strict moves but the journey and my theater background!! I have always been inspired by lady Gaga’s incredibly powerful style and Janet Jackson’s endless talent. I am a very physical person and what I do with my physicality really helps me feel the world around me like nothing else.
Ever since I was young, growing up with my mother, we would clear out the living room and throw dance parties to shake our stress away. Music videos always provided the backdrop to fully emerse ourselves in the music and the mind of the artist simultaneously! I have tried to make my own music videos my entire life. Never having the right props or set or costumes I always felt stifled in my art , like tiny everyday boxes I was trapped in. I know I would fully be able to be myself😃
I have tried many careers in my journey as an artist!! Working on cruise ships, children’s theatre and countless other pursuits. I have wanted to start my journey in New York and really see art all around me, everyday that I wake up. I know this money would give me an amazing start there, and coming from a rural low income foundation this is my opportunity!! That excited me to no end, that this could be the foundation my creative wheel has needed for my entire life!!
