I’ve always loved the 90s hiphop and style. I follow dancers like Ysabelle Capitule, Matt Stefanina, (Once upon a time) Chachi Gonzalez, Phil Wright. Growing up I was always fascinated with Chris Brown, Usher and of course the Step Up series! I loved the feeling of seeing what kind of art people could create as a whole with their stories and themselves.
Being in Ciara’s music video would impact my life by encouraging me to not giving up on my passion. My entire life I was dreamt small because it’s “realistic” but I am in a place of being open to opportunity no matter how “unrealistic” it may be. I’ve been dancing at home and the gym just because I am choosing to not let go of what I love. Being in a music video would be a proud accomplishment to the person who used to doubt herself 2 years ago.
I am currently living on my own and holding down the fort with my husband in prison (because he defended himself). Living on my own has been tough but not impossible, there are a lot of things I am paying for now on one income. I would like to pay off the manageable debt we have to be able to start saving money. This would take a burden off my plate.
The search is on for eight dancers to be flown to a live judged event in Phoenix, AZ, showcasing their skills to Ciara and her choreographer, Jamaica Craft. One will be chosen to appear in her upcoming music video and win $20,000!
