Tell us about your dance style or inspiration:

I began on a drill team and now train industry hip hop. My roots from Trinidad & Tobago has blended my style with island flavor. Ciara’s southern crunk style has sparked interest from the Goodies debut & onward. Missy Elliot’s eccentricity in her rhymes & videos was always captivating. ‘Stomp the Yard’ made me fall in love with Krump. My dad is my biggest inspiration; as a musician, he’s introduced me to a variety of musical stylings & instruments.

How would being in Ciara's music video impact your life?

This opportunity would bring my inner child so much joy—to work with a person who was the “It Girl” in my mini world and ignited dance closer to my soul. I would be able to gain credibility in my community to showcase the importance of dance and art by putting Lehigh Valley talent on the map—for me and my peers who have dedicated our lives to dance—paying homage to my mentors who’ve created space to find our passion in an area that doesn’t highlight it.

What would you do with the $20,000?

I want to renovate a vacant space available to me and transform it into a versatile arts studio for various artists to utilize. The space will be home base for local youth talent to develop their natural gifts and find paralleled passions. The goal is to create a scholarship program to grant opportunities of continuous professional education in their craft so that we may dispel stereotypes of “starving artists” and instead make it accessible like a trade school, providing stability.
