My dance style in one word is like a canister of mystery popcorn. You never know what you're going to get. Ballet? Afrobeats? Hip Hop? Jazz? I'm a jack of all trades and probably have too much fun with it. My mother is a ballroom dancer and she was my first introduction into dance. From there, I took off. In all honesty, my passion for and commitment to dance is what kept me sane throughout my undergraduate and graduate years in school. It is a passion, outlet, and precious art
Being in Ciara's music video would give me the opportunity to do what I love in a way that I never would've believed as possible. I want to be an example to my students of what blood, sweat, and tears can achieve. I want to prove to my family that my hours at dance practice were more than just fun: I was sharpening my craft and learning to breathe amidst the chaos that my life was in school. From a pandemic to natural disasters, my premed journey had been anything but normal
I would put it towards funding medical school. I am an aspiring OBGYN and I currently work full-time time as a medical assistant in that field and part-time as a ballet dance teacher. The $20,000 would make my dream of being a doctor one step closer to reality.
The search is on for eight dancers to be flown to a live judged event in Phoenix, AZ, showcasing their skills to Ciara and her choreographer, Jamaica Craft. One will be chosen to appear in her upcoming music video and win $20,000!
