My mother was my dance partner and is my inspiration. In early childhood, I participated in various performing arts projects at her college. After she went into the military, I continued dancing. I learned ballet, jazz, tap, and hip hop. She passed away at 28 when I was 8 years old. Her death impacted my ability to afford dance lessons. Nevertheless, I continued to dance through high school as a way to express and heal from trauma. I wish to honor my gifts and share my love with the world.
After high school , I experienced a creative block and slowly disconnected from my gifts. Being in Ciara’s music video allows me a second chance to reward my inner child by making her dreams come true, honor my mother in a major way, and take control of my life by being my authentic self instead of hiding my gifts to appease the expectations of others in my culture.
As a grand expression of my gratitude to Ciara and further support her mission to, “ make the world dance”, I’d invest in a creative arts dance studio and continue to expand and build upon my foundation and giving back to my communities. I’d love to make various forms of dance accessible to underprivileged communities and groups.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Entrepreneur of Impact, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
