My dance style comes from within. Growing up I was a self-taught dancer, I could watch a move one time and I would automatically grasp it. My inspiration comes from growing up in the church doing liturgical. I learned at an early age that you can speak to God through dance so anytime I'm feeling down or not in my best mood, I dance to help change my mood. I love hip-hop, liturgical, jazz, and most of all freestyle. I'm free when I dance like its just me against me.
Dancing in Ciara's music video will continue to boost my self-confidence, continue to provide a creative outlet for myself, potentially open more doors to further dance opportunities, and create a unique and memorable experience tied to a popular song, potentially leading to increased recognition and personal fulfillment. Ciara is part of my top 3 dance influencers so it would mean the world to have the opportunity to be alongside her dancing or even just to meet her.
If I won the $20,000 I would use the money to start my nonprofit organization called Unsilenced Survivors. Four years ago I was diagnosed with HIV. I dated a guy for a year and he failed to tell me basically making a choice for my life. I went through a terrible depression stage in my life for a year in half until I found the courage to take my life back. I want to start my nonprofit for women whose story is like mine or similar to mine to show them there is still life after a storm.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Entrepreneur of Impact, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
