Dance is life! To me, my dance style is movement. While I love Hip Hop & Afro Caribbean dance, I’m interested in all dance forms. “If I can learn it, I can do it!” is what I like to say. Some of my biggest inspirations are Alvin Ailey, Josephine Baker, Ciara, Mya, Aaliyah, Janet Jackson, & my siblings.
It would bring my life full circle! When I was younger, I taught myself to dance by recording my favorite music videos & playing them back to learn the moves. Ciara is my biggest inspiration! I love her and still to this day, I play her videos back to learn the routines. It is because of that inspiration and passion for dance, l've lived the life l've lived within dance. I've been blessed and I'm grateful.
I would use it to open a holistic dance studio in my neighborhood, creating a safe space for POC, both young and old, to explore the many forms of art, dance, & music; to experience themselves in their truest/rawest form - revealing the magic within; and to express/heal themselves with the medicine that is dance.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Entrepreneur of Impact, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
