I am heavy influenced by both Hip-Hop and Contemporary. I grew up very ballet trained, but connect a lot with street styles like Hip-Hop and Heels work. I notice how much technical training allows me to move the way I do in street styles and gives me so much more range of movement physically but also in marketing myself as a dancer. Often compared to moving like water or "creature-like", my dream jobs range from Tour dancing for an artist, to dancing/ movement in a horror movie.
Being a Canadian, it is my dream to work professionally in the US and this would help me get much closer to that. I have watched Ciara as a performer for years and looked up to the range she has, which it would be a dream to dance beside. This would allow me a bigger platform to share myself as an artist and connect as I enter the industry. Going from dancing and choreographing to Ciara's music, to performing in front of her would be a massive milestone and once in a lifetime opportunity for me.
To me, this opportunity is more about the strides and opportunities it would be bringing me as a Canadian dancer. However, I would invest half the money in the Why Not You foundation that you have chosen- Though I was unfamiliar with the foundation before this, seeing its work to empower and uplift the youth really resonates with me growing up as a dancer. The other half I would invest in myself and my career in working to get a VISA and fulfil my dreams of coming to work professionally in LA.
