My style is a fusion of contemporary (contemporary ballet, modern, jazz, Brazilian, and Indian). I've studied hip-hop(house and krump). I have trained in heels, and currently teach a heels class each week in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In addition to being apart of multiple communities and dance sessions. I value being an inspiration to those through my own JORNAE style and choreography. I include sign language within my choreography as I have learned the language through my studies.
Being able to learn and contribute to the space in which Ciara is curating would be an honor. I would love to be able to learn from the other dancers in the space, while being connected to Ciara and providing my love and healing in the space. Ciara has always been my biggest inspiration as a artist and dancer, her authenticity and presence just made me feel so loved as black girl growing up and now being a grown woman, an inspiration who I am becoming daily. Her belief in God makes my heartbeat
How we would utilized 20,000 in 2025 is establishing a functioning business plan that can enable us to dividend the funding to different buckets within our business. Our main goal this year is to get our youth ensemble (dance team) off the ground. That will serve the African American community - those who are not in upper class tax bracket. So we would offer scholarships and opportunities to those 10-18 to participate in ensemble and provide payment to them and our leadership team will be paid.
The search is on for eight dancers to be flown to a live judged event in Phoenix, AZ, showcasing their skills to Ciara and her choreographer, Jamaica Craft. One will be chosen to appear in her upcoming music video and win $20,000!
