Help me compete to become the Dance Icon and appear in a music video with Ciara and win $20,000!
My style of dance ranges from hip hop and RnB to calypso/reggae followed by a little modern contemporary. I’ve always loved creating my own style and inspiration from Icons like Chris Brown, CIARA, Teyanna Taylor, Shakira, MJ, and more. My favorite style is hip hop/RnB because I feel the most fluid, confident, creative when dancing this style. From watching early 2000’s music videos,step up movies, playing just dance, I’d start dancing in my living room, creating my own moves
Being in Ciara’s music video would not only inspire me, by meeting the icon herself and getting to learn the life of a professional dancer, but it will also give me hope for my future endeavors. I’m currently double majoring in Biochemistry and Dance at Hofstra University as an African American, young woman. I would use this opportunity of a lifetime to encourage/inspire dancers around the world, especially woman of color, to continue chasing their dreams amidst our harsh reality and
With the generous $20,000 prize, I would first, use some of the earnings to further my education by paying off my student loans and ensuring my family wouldn’t have to struggle with debt for awhile. Then, I would save money towards building my own dance studio after I graduate college, where I teach people of all ages how to stay creative and expressive through movement. One of my favorite hobbies is teaching people something new (especially how to bust a move) and giving back to others.
The search is on for eight dancers to be flown to a live judged event in Phoenix, AZ, showcasing their skills to Ciara and her choreographer, Jamaica Craft. One will be chosen to appear in her upcoming music video and win $20,000!
