I am constantly on the lookout for new sources of inspiration to fuel my craft. And while I appreciate and draw from all styles of dance, there is one era that holds a special place in my heart - the 90s and 00s. The dance music videos from this time period have not only shaped my movements, but have also taught me how to tell a story through dance. Incorporating storytelling into my own dance routines has become a huge part of my style. I believe that dance is a universal language.
First and foremost, I am a role model for my students, both young girls and boys. As a dance teacher, I have the privilege to inspire and guide them towards their dreams and passions. Being a part of a music video for a renowned artist like Ciara would showcase to my students that hard work and determination can lead to incredible opportunities. It would teach them to never give up on their dreams and to always go after what they want in life.
I would finish remodeling my studio, I would use it to not only enhance the physical space but also invest in the future of my dancers through scholarships. Which can open doors for those dancers who have a true passion for dance but may not have the means to pursue it.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Entrepreneur of Impact, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
