My dance style blends choreography and freestyle, inspired by Christian hip-hop and the joy of movement. With 20+ years of hip-hop training in SoCal, my work is primarily labeled as hip-hop. As a mom, my kids are my biggest inspiration because they look up to me. My faith and family drive my journey, and my unique style makes my choreography or freestyle recognizable as uniquely 'Texas West.'
Being in Ciara's music video would reignite my professional dance career, which I put on hold when I became a mom, thinking I might never dance professionally again. It’s a chance to showcase my 20+ years of hip-hop and my unique 'Texas' style, inspire my kids, and prove that motherhood doesn’t end dreams—it reshapes them. This opportunity could restart my career and solidify my place in the dance world.
With $20,000, I would provide greater stability for my family and restart my career while giving back to my nonprofit after-school program, Dream Complex. Dream Complex empowers youth in South Los Angeles through dance, film, entrepreneurship, and faith. This funding would allow me to expand programming, make a greater impact in the community, and inspire young creatives to see that success in the arts is achievable, just as I am pursuing my dreams.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Entrepreneur of Impact, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
