I started dancing at age two when I memorized all of the dances on Michael Jackson's Dance Experience on the Wii U. That led my parents to enroll me in my first combo class at 3, a ballet/tap combo. Michael Jackson was my first dance inspiration. I have trained in ballet for 7 years, lyrical for 4 years, and Jazz, Hip Hop, and Acro for 3 years. My style is a mix of these, as I train 14 hours a week. Recently, I have enjoyed digging deeper into hip-hop and jazz.
Dance is my passion and a core part of who I am. Growing up as a boy dancer in a small, conservative community, I've faced bullying, but it’s strengthened my determination to pursue dance as a career. At 13, being recognized for what I love would be an incredible boost to help launch my journey. I’m also a singer and actor, just like Ciara and Heather, so being mentored by them would be an incredible honor and invaluable for my future.
I plan to attend a performing arts college after I graduate high school, which I will do a full year early (at the end of my junior year). I would save the $20,000 to help pay for my tuition, as both of my parents are educators and don't have a ton of money to pay for an expensive school.
The search is on for eight dancers to be flown to a live judged event in Phoenix, AZ, showcasing their skills to Ciara and her choreographer, Jamaica Craft. One will be chosen to appear in her upcoming music video and win $20,000!
