I started dancing at the age of 5 and got into hip hop at 8 years old. From then on, I participated in all of my school’s talent shows, joining a dance company and dancing in my room on weekends (sometimes for 13 hours straight). Performing gave me a rush and I loved that I could capture an audience’s attention with my movements. My biggest inspiration is Michael Jackson. I love his musicality and how sharp and smooth he was with his movements.
Being in Ciara’s video would finally give me the opportunity to chase my dream of being a professional dancer. I’m 25, and I am chasing my dreams of being a backup dancer and touring with artists, not to mention an artist like Ciara. She is an incredible dancer, who I’ve looked up to. I remember falling on the floor trying to recreate that dance with the microphone from her Promise video. Being able to dance with her would be a testament that I am meant to be a dancer.
The cash prize of $20,000 would be used to pay down a hold I have for school so that I can continue my education. I also would have money to support me for future dance opportunities like travel, classes, etc.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Entrepreneur of Impact, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
