My favorite dance styles definitely vary, but jazz, contemporary, hip-hop, and lyrical are the ones that have had the most influence on me. However, my journey as a dancer truly began at the age of two, when I first watched the music video for "Goodies" by Ciara. I remember when I’d always watch her perform and being mesmerized by her energy, and confidence. Looking back, I’m grateful for that early exposure to dance, which shaped who I am as an artist.
Being in Ciara's music video would be a life-changing experience that could profoundly impact both my personal and professional growth as a dancer. First and foremost, it would be an incredible honor to be part of a project that shaped my love for dance from such a young age. The opportunity to work with Ciara herself, someone I’ve admired for years, would not only be a dream come true but would also inspire me to keep pushing boundaries, and to stay true to my artistic vision.
If I won the $20,000, I would use it to pay tuition at Howard University, allowing me to pursue my passions for both dance and journalism. This investment would help me refine my skills in both fields, enabling me to combine creative expression through dance with impactful storytelling in journalism. Attending Howard would provide the resources and opportunities to grow academically and artistically, setting me on the path to success in both disciplines.
